Better city initiative
2020深圳中考英语作文题新鲜出炉，要求学生就深圳创建全国文明城市写一封倡议信。这样的命题不算新颖，但还是很有意义的，一方面融入了本土化元素，另一方面也具有潜在的教育意义。以下是我写的一篇范文，仅供参考。
Over the past few years, the city of Shenzhen has dedicated to building itself a “civilized city”, a campaign relevant to everyone of us who lives here. What can we do to make Shenzhen a better city?
Firstly, make our city greener. To achieve this goal, we can sort out our waste before recycling and encourage our friends and family to bike or walk for commuting.
Secondly，spend some of your free time volunteering. There is always something you can make contribution to, from donating old clothes to saving homeless dogs. Doing good will make you feel good too, so everybody wins.
Most importantly and also the very least we could do, is be kind. Remember to always treat others the way you would like to be treated.
It’s never too late to take action. Let’s work together to make our city all the more beautiful!
